You can suggest ways in bringing your managerial experience into intelligence. I.e better organizing inputs, easy methods of communication with other departments, etc. And you can elaborate on these lines.

A part of your justification can be like this .. surveying is a part of civil engineering. This means you can identify, detect & gauge material threats easily. By seeing some structure you should be able to tell the composition of it, strength of it. By this you will be helping other agencies in case there is any attack on buildings as such. You can also say that you are capable of drawing maps or visualize any location in mind itself, this helps reduce time delays in assessing an area & potential threats. Build some narrative on these lines.

Answer to the situation based question:-
Say that you will try to mix up with the local people in every possible way you can with decent originality in a way that they believe you and consider you as one of them, then gradually you will get to know the info and whereabouts of the Naxals, same goes with the terrorist one except in the later case you have to put an eye on his daily activities as where does he go, whom does he meet etc.

As far as questions on your B. Tech is concerned dude you have to manage it on your own 😊

By disguising myself as a local and try to forge good relations with the local vendors such as Chaiwalas and Paanwalas because mixed type of population visit such spot and discuss issues which could be of much importance if rightly filtered.

You can justify yourself by telling them that you are good with numbers and can be of much significance when issues like financial fraud pops up. You can build few more points around this. :)
